Choose plants and furniture that add up to the garden style that is planned. Gardens are designed in different shapes and sizes. It is advisable to disguise the unusually shaped area of the garden.

Measure the length and width of the proposed garden. Measure how big the pond, the fences, the hedges, the pergolas or the large trees if they are in the design. Consider all the small elements and make the outline of the garden. Using graph paper, sketch the planned design of the garden. List down in a sheet of paper all the plants, containers and many other things needed to decorate the garden.

Read instructions carefully on all products to be used. Check those waste materials that can be reused to create shapes and curves.
